The Himeyuri Peace Museum, located in Itoman City, Okinawa, is a museum that conveys the wartime experiences of the Himeyuri Student Corps, who were mobilized as nurses during the Battle of Okinawa. The museum features video testimonies from survivors, historical photos, personal belongings, and a life-sized replica of the Ihara Third Surgical Trench where they were stationed. It is a place to learn about the tragedy of war and the preciousness of peace. Established in 1989 by the Himeyuri Alumni Association, it attracts numerous visitors from both Japan and abroad as a center for peace education.
