Southeast Botanical Gardens

Detailed Information

Southeast Botanical Gardens, located in Chibana, Okinawa City, is one of Japan's largest outdoor botanical gardens, where you can admire over 50,000 plants from about 1,300 species of tropical and subtropical varieties. The park is divided into the "Water Garden Area" and the "Botanical Garden Area," with many highlights such as baobab trees, the world's longest-living tree (Dragon's Blood Tree), and Japan's largest avenue of King Palm trees. There's also a petting zoo where you can interact with about 50 types of animals, including squirrel monkeys and capybaras, and seasonal illuminations are a popular attraction. Surrounded by nature, plants, and animals, it's a recommended spot for families and couples.
